| Job Description |
You will be responsible for enhancing the visitors' experience through
personal interaction and by interpreting the exhibits and works of art,
whilst maintaining the safety and security of the visitors, exhibits
and buildings. Wardens will work along the visitor's route
during the Summer Opening of the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace or at
The Queen's Gallery, the Royal Mews and Clarence House. Duties include
welcoming visitors, ticket and security checks, audio guide
distribution and interpreting the works of art at different points
along the visitor routes.
For most roles you will be required
to work 5 days out of 7 from Monday to Sunday on a rota basis and
require regular weekend work, however some part-time contracts are
available. A normal working day is 8 hours although start and finish
times vary depending on where you are working each day. You will
need to be available to work from 14 July until 27 September 2005. For
staff working in the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace a minimum of four
days training will be provided between 18-29 July prior to Buckingham
Palace opening to the public on 30 July 2005. You will also need to be
able to attend a Registration day between 14-19 July. Registration
should last approximately 30 minutes.
Interviews will take place in London. Employment is subject to satisfactory references and full security clearance.
We
can offer a competitive pay rate, excellent training, a friendly team
atmosphere, complimentary lunch and a stimulating, unique working
environment.
Working during the Summer Opening at
Buckingham Palace will provide you with the challenge of a demanding
role and give you the opportunity to meet many new people both as
colleagues and visitors. You will also become a vital part of the team
that helps to ensure the success of the 2005 summer season.
