time role, it takes between 6 months - 2 years to be fully trained.
This is a career opportunity, you must be prepared to learn to continue
within the industry.
Embalmers tend to work days, but with
variable hours, sometimes at weekends. Overtime and part-time work are
possible. They work in a clinically clean environment, slightly below
normal room temperature.
Embalmers need to:
•be sensitive to other people's feelings
•not be squeamish
•pay attention to detail
•be serious and smart
•be interested in science, particularly chemistry and anatomy
•have hand skills
•be strong, some heavy lifting involved
Pay is related to a training of 6 months to a few years, depending on the capabilities of the person.
Qualifications No formal qualifications are required for embalming work, but we would prefer applicants with leaving certificate, including English.
Compensation Trainee wage, excellent pay once qualified.
