Our client puts the same time and effort into finding and choosing the right people to work for them as they do into their quality products. Our client now seeks a proactive, self starter for the role of WINEMAKER at their GRIFFITH based winery. Position Scope:
The Winemaker will, in consultation with the Company winemaking team, assist the Winery Manager to ensure the production of quality wines and to assist in the continuous improvement of all facets of wine production.
JOB SPECIFICATION
Administration:
Prepare monthly reports as required.
Assist in the preparation of Capital Expenditure proposals as required.
Assist in the preparation of the annual expense budget and 3 year strategic plan as required.
Technical:
Ensure Winemaking practices are consistent with Company Policy, Procedures and Standards.
In consultation with the Winery Manager and the Company Winemakers, ensure quality control systems are in place in accordance with the Company Policy and ISO and HACCP Regulations.
Ensure compliance with all customs and excise regulations and requirements regarding wine fortification.
Review and evaluate winemaking processes and procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
In consultation with Company Winemakers and the Winery Manager assist with wine blending, wine additions and fining processes.
Assist in the management of wine transfers.
Communication / Staff Supervision:
Ensure effective intra and inter departmental communication.
Participate in formal and informal team meetings as required.
Assist in the management of winery activities and winemaking operations.
Report all relevant issues regarding wine production to the Winery Manager on a regular formal and informal basis.
Represent our client at public relation activities as required.

| Qualifications |
Essential: Possess a Tertiary level qualification in Oenology or Wine Science.
Experience:
Desirable: A minimum 3 years practical winemaking experience.
